Prompting for Reliable, Auditable Answers

Beginner7 modules · 17 lessonsApprox. 4 hours 45 minutesChatGPT · Claude · Copilot

For accounting and advisory firms and in-house finance teams.

Build confidence in the work you put your name to

A useful AI answer needs more than clear wording. It needs the right source, a defined task and a review process that catches missing facts, incorrect calculations and unsupported conclusions.

Work through expense-policy, document-review, invoice and reporting cases for a fictional Australian business. Practise the full process: write the brief, inspect the answer, correct the issues and retain a clear record of what you checked.

By the end, you will be able toPractical output
Ask focused questions and verify the supporting wordingA source-backed document review
Compare versions without overlooking material deletionsA contract-change workpaper
Extract records and identify missing or inconsistent informationAn extraction and exception register
Draft concise commentary without inventing causesA management update ready for review
Reuse prompts with clear checks and ownershipFive adapted team prompt records

Use the tool your team already approves

The course applies to ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. You can complete the core exercises in one approved tool. An optional comparison activity helps you assess a second tool using the same finance case and expected results.

It draws on official prompting guidance from OpenAI Academy, Claude Academy and Microsoft Learn, with EAI finance exercises, worked answers and review templates.

Software subscriptions are separate. You do not need access to all three platforms.

Before you enrol

▸Is this suitable for beginners?

Yes. No previous prompting experience or coding is required. You should be familiar with basic accounting, financial records and management reporting. The course introduces the prompting method and gives worked answers for each exercise.

▸How is this different from the Microsoft 365 Copilot course?

Course 1 focuses on completing finance workflows in Microsoft 365. This course develops prompting, source checking and review skills that transfer across ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. You do not need to complete Course 1 first.

▸Why take this alongside free provider training?

Provider training explains general techniques and product use. This course adds a connected finance case, deliberately flawed outputs to investigate, source-checking records, worked answers and a practical assessment. You practise applying the techniques to work that needs a clear explanation and review trail.

▸Which subscription do I need?

Use one organisation-approved account for ChatGPT, Claude or Microsoft Copilot. You can paste the supplied typed source text if uploads are unavailable. Search and file features depend on your account and settings. Check access before enrolling; software subscriptions are not included.

▸Will I need confidential client or employer documents?

No. All required exercises use fictional records supplied with the course. You can complete the course without uploading client, employee or employer information.

▸Does “auditable” mean the AI answer is guaranteed correct?

No. It means you learn to make the work traceable to sources, calculations and documented checks. AI output still needs professional review. The course does not provide an audit opinion or guarantee error-free answers.

▸How is the course delivered and assessed?

Self-paced written lessons and exercises, with downloadable text materials, worked answers, a self-assessed practical case and an interactive knowledge check. Allow approximately 4 hours 45 minutes. Individual instructor marking and live sessions are not included.

▸Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Complete the course and pass the final knowledge check with at least 80% (8 correct answers out of 10) to receive your EAI Academy certificate of completion.

▸What is the price?

A$490 plus A$49 GST, for a total of A$539 including GST. The course price has been reduced from A$590 plus GST, a saving of A$100 before GST. This is a one-time course payment.

▸How long can I access the course, and what are the refund terms?
